Solve Your Arm Sleep Problems

Have you ever woken up in the morning to have a nagging tingling sensation in one of your body parts? Arm sleep problems are fairly common. They occur when a person wakes up and notices that one of their body parts feels numb and immobile. What's going on? What causes Arm sleep?

Arm sleep, this strange tingling sensation isn't uncommon, but it is uncomfortable. It's frustrating to wake up in the middle of the night, roll over, and realize you can't move one of your arms. The icky sensation gets stronger as your body part "wakes up".

Arm sleep usually occurs after you've been sleeping on your arm for a long time. It is especially common in people who sleep on their sides or people who fold their arms behind their head and then fall asleep. Since your arm was squeezed so tightly for such a long time, the pressure makes it hard for your brain to send impulses. It as if your brain has temporarily lost communication with that body part.

During Arm sleep, arteries can also be squeezed tightly. This means no nutrients are making their way to those body cells. This makes the cells behave oddly. What does this mean for you? It means you experience unpleasant sensations like Arm sleep. This lapse in impulses causes your arm not to operate properly. The numbness, tingling, and odd sensation are your arm's way of telling you that it's a bit out of sorts.

Arm sleep all boils down to the issue of an interruption of transmission between your brain and your arm. Nerve cells may not properly be sending impulses. You may feel odd, but it really poses no danger unless circulation is cut off for a very long extended period of time. The feelings associated with Arm sleep are simply a good cue that it's time to turn over and go to seep in another position.

When you experience arm sleep and your arm " wakes up ", you usually tingle first then feel a burning sensation before you revert to normal. This is because your nerve fibers are returning back to normal. Sometimes, it takes a little time.

One thing you can do to possibly ward off Arm sleep is to invest in a side sleeper pillow. If you sleep on your arm, you're always going to be a candidate for Arm sleep. This is because when we sleep on our sides, our shoulders and arms always seem to get in the way. A side sleeper pillow compensates for your body parts, allowing for proper body alignment when you sleep.

Mouthpiece: Is It the Best Anti Snoring Device?

Just thinking of what should be the remedies you can apply on your problem with snoring can indeed make you sleepless at night. The moment you lie on your bed and begin wondering how to stop yourself from making those nightly noises, you actually ward off drowsiness because you are afraid of waking others with your snoring. Of course, person you are in bed with may not mind because you are after all giving her a good night's sleep. However, it is certainly you who will suffer the effect of inadequate rest the next working day.

To avoid this situation from becoming routine, you may have to try wearing a snoring mouthpiece every time you sleep. You may wonder whether this happens to be the best anti snoring device in the market. Most people who have tried this consider it as such. What makes it more interesting is that a lot others who share the bed with snorers also think it is truly one of the best. This only makes the label more credible. After all, you can never tell if this device you use truly works, particularly because it is worn while the person is asleep. The best person who can do this is the person who sleeps beside you.

While effectiveness of the device may be the concern of the person beside you in bed, comfort is certainly your concern. Therefore, what should be the best anti snoring device for you is one that does not compromise a good night's sleep just to silence your snore. A snoring mouthpiece in fact passes the highest standards of comfort. On the first couple of nights of use, you may find this uncomfortable. However, as soon as you get accustomed with it in your mouth, you should be sleeping without even feeling its presence. Getting accustomed with it is also fast because this is made to suit your own mandible size and distinct dental formation. The best one does not even require you to see a dentist. Instead, you just need to bite on it and it adapts to the shape of your mandible.

You may not be able to find a snoring mouthpiece without you having to know first the reason for your snoring concern. There is a specific device for a particular type of snoring problem; that only indicates how significant it is for you to consult with a doctor for your snoring concern. If you won't do this before you purchase an anti snoring device, then you could just be wasting your effort and money.

A Guide To Tantric Massage

TANTRIC MASSAGE

I guess the majority of us have heard about Tantric sex and massage. Had anyone asked me what it was exactly I would have giggled shyly and muttered something about gentle touching, feathers, massage and no orgasm. How wrong I was.

Tantric massage is basically just a massage. However it was created from the belief that if you are sexually happy and relaxed then your health will benefit. The Hindus describe Tantra as achieving personal growth through pleasurable existence. The massage itself does tend to cause orgasms, but these are described as a bonus rather than the aim.

Although Tantric massage does not involve actual penetrative sex, it does involve full on touching of the organs. For this reason you will not find it offered down your local health centre. You are far more likely to find it on offer in the many massage parlours in London and other major cities.

If you want to have a go with her or him indoors here is a pretty basic guide to Tantric massage.

Firstly, from this point on, your manhood is referred to as Lingam (wand of light - don't be thinking light sabre it's not that big!) and the lady's bits are called Yoni (sacred space or sacred temple). Let's face it those words sound much nicer than the alternatives.

If you are visiting somewhere for your massage you need to decide in advance whether you will be getting naked or not. Proper Tantric masseuse prefer you to be naked, they believe this helps the healing process all over your body. If you are shy you can choose to keep some clothes on, I am guessing you will want to cover your Lingam or your Yoni. If you are at home with the missus or the husband, get your kit off and turn the heating up.

Choose some gentle music (whale music is optional). Now banish all thoughts of kneading your lover all over until she or he begs for mercy. It's not that kind of massage. Make your lover lie on his or her back, legs apart and a cushion under the hips to raise up the Yoni/Lingam area and a cushion under the head so they can look at their genitals. Explain that although there will not be any penetrative sex this evening you will take them to previously unknown heights of sexual satisfaction. It may help to convince them if you do not print off this article and place it next to them on the bed. Choose your lubricant wisely; chocolate body sauce has no place here.

The massage itself involves every part of the body, although I guess the Yoni/Lingam area will receive more than its fair share of attention. The massaging of the body is to help prepare the receiver for the attention you will be paying their genitals.

Yoni Massage

Pour a small amount of oil on to the mound of the Yoni, just enough so it drips down the outer lips. Massage each outer lip slowly between thumb and forefinger, sliding up and down the entire length of the lip. Only ask your lover if the pressure is too much or not enough. Try to look into their eyes during the massage and ensure she can see what you are doing. Do the same for the inner lips of the Yoni. Take your time and watch your lover relax.

The jewel in the crown is the clitoris. Four times more sensitive that your Lingam so take it easy here. Begin by gently stroking it in a clockwise and anti-clockwise direction and squeeze it gently between your thumb and index finger. The missus will be well and truly fired up by now but try not to allow an orgasm just yet, let the sensations build. If it becomes too much, just back off a bit and encourage her to breathe deeply. Now insert the middle finger of your right hand (I can't remember why it has to be the right one but I shouldn't think it would cause too much trouble if you need to use your left instead.) and gently feel around inside continuing to massage gently.

With your palm facing upwards and your middle finger buried in the Yoni, bend your finger back towards the palm and you should feel a spongy area just under the pubic bone. This is known as the G-spot ("that's where it is!" I hear you yell). Gently massage here, in circles, back and forth, side to side. Your lover may feel the need to pee but hopefully she should feel pleasure building slowly. At this point you may wish to insert the finger between your middle finger and your little finger. Whilst a few of your digits are employed inside, you may as well use your thumb to continue circling the clitoris. Another option is to leave your middle finger inside, continue stimulating the clitoris with your thumb and insert your little finger up her anus. I would suggest you perhaps test the waters first as anal penetration when you are not expecting it would definitely ruin the mood. Whilst all this is going on, your left hand may feel a little underused. Use it instead to continue stroking and massaging other parts of her body (her body parts not yours!). Your lover will more than likely experience a very intense orgasm and afterward will feel completely relaxed. She will generally drift off to sleep and leave you in a state of arousal with no prospect of a Lingam massage for you tonight!

Lingam Massage

Traditionally the giver, some men may find it difficult to lay back and think of England whilst his lover goes to work on his wand of light. However, I do suggest you give it a go bearing in mind the fantastic massage you gave her Yoni last night.

Get your man to lay back on the bed with a pillow under his head to enable him to see what you are doing. Put a pillow under his hips and spread his legs with his knees bent. His Lingam must be completely exposed. Begin as before by gently massaging all over his body, avoiding this area for a while. This allows him to become completely relaxed and prepared for the touching of the Lingam. Pour a small amount of oil over his shaft and testicles and begin gently massaging his testicles. Next massage the area on the pubic bone above the Lingam. Massage the area between his testicles and his anus (perineum). Moving on to the Lingam, gently grasp the base with your right hand and move up the shaft and then remove your hand, repeat with the left hand. Do this for some time, then change to grasping the Lingam at the top, slide down the shaft and remove your hand, replace with the left and repeat this process. The head of the Lingam is very sensitive and deserves special attention. Massage it in a circular motion. Don't worry if the Lingam goes soft, it will shortly perk up again. Likewise if your partner seems to be on the brink of orgasm, back off and encourage deep breathing.

Keep bringing him close to orgasm and then back off. This is not a method of torture, it helps them to control their ejaculation and therefore achieve longer and more pleasurable orgasms. Whilst continuing to massage his Lingam, you can search for his sacred spot. This is located between his testicles and his anus. It is a small indentation about the size of a pea. If you massage here and gently increase the pressure he may well feel uncomfortable at first. Applying pressure here will help him gain control of his orgasms in future. If he is nearing ejaculation you can apply pressure here and this will increase the intensity of his orgasm.

The end of the massage is signalled by either ejaculation or snoring. If he is snoring you still have some practising to do. If he has ejaculated, you have some clearing up to do.

I am still very much a beginner however I was pleased to discover that Tantric massage is not a mysterious sexual cult and is certainly not difficult to do. Anyone with an hour to spare and a bottle of strawberry flavoured body oil can do it.

Sleep Apnea Pillow

Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by frequent pauses in breathing during sleep. Three types of sleep apnea exist: central, obstructive and mixed. Obstructive is the most common, resulting from over-relaxation of throat muscles, causing the windpipe to collapse and block the airway. Treatments for sleep apnea range from simple lifestyle changes to surgery. One of the most common non-invasive treatments is the sleep apnea pillow.

A sleep apnea pillow is a pillow that is designed for snorers, since snoring is one of the most common indicators of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea pillows are designed to support the neck, to prevent patients from rolling onto their backs (where snoring and sleep apnea can worsen), to cradle the head, to elongate the neck and keep the tongue from blocking the airway, and to assist side sleepers by relieving pressure on shoulders and arms.

Several different manufacturers claim their sleep apnea pillows achieve the above objectives, but SONA pillow is the only sleep apnea pillow approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an over-the counter treatment.

The SONA sleep apnea pillow at first looks rather odd. A two-layered triangle instead of a solid rectangle, this sleep apnea pillow resembles a padded boomerang more than a pillow. The angular design, though, is what makes this pillow helpful in treating sleep apnea. The shape is intended to maintain sleep in the side position. Two inclined surfaces make up the primary sleeping surface, with a flatter lower surface in the center.

Each lower part of the triangle of the sleep apnea pillow has a training arm sling. To properly use the pillow lie on either side, extend your arm in the open space under the pillow. Your arm should be kept extended while sleeping and the head should be maintained on the same side as the extended hand.

Initially, you may use the training arm sling to maintain this position by placing the arm in the space between the pillow and the sling. For additional sleep compliance, you can use a body pillow to hug over, or to put between the legs to help maintain the side sleeping position. Using the sleep apnea pillow in this manner allows the jaw to be pulled forward, preventing the tongue from falling backward and obstructing the throat.

Certain portions of the populations are not candidates for the SONA sleep apnea pillow. People with severe sleep apnea do not benefit from using the SONA sleep apnea pillow as a solo therapy. Obese individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of over 30 will not get the snoring relief obtained by thinner members of the population.

The SONA sleep apnea pillow, like all pillows, undergoes normal wear and tear, and should be periodically fluffed. The makers of SONA pillow also recommend replacing the sleep apnea pillow annually.

Before purchasing the SONA sleep apnea pillow, or any sleep apnea pillow, consult your physician.

SONA Pillow is a registered trademark of Sleep Devices, Inc.

What is the Difference Between CPAP and BIPAP Ventilation?

Do you deal with sleep apnea or other breathing problems?

If so, then you may find yourself needing a breathing machine, such as a CPAP or BIPAP machine. If you have to use one of these machines, you'll need to know the differences between them and how they work. So, let's take a closer look at these machines and masks, how they work, when to use them, and the differences between them.

What is a CPAP Machine?Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, also known as CPAP is a method of take positive pressure and applying it inside the throat in order to keep it from collapsing while you are sleeping. The mask is hooked up to this machine and it is worn over the nose and is connected to a CPAP pump. This pump then applies pressure to the throat through the mask in order to keep your throat from collapsing. While many people tend to stop using their mask within the first year, finding a mask that fits and feels comfortable can provide a solution to this problem. Usually these masks are made out of silicon and it then makes a seal over your nose. New gel filled masks are also available, and many people find them more comfortable

What is a BIPAP Machine? The BIPAP machine is also a breathing machine designed to help patients breath easier. Not only does this machine help to push some air into the lungs, but it also helps to get more oxygen into the lungs by holding them open. This machine is adjustable and can sense the amount of pressure to use when exhaling and inhaling. The mask that goes along with this machine goes simply over the face, usually the mouth and nose, and creates a seal so the air pressure goes into your body.

When to Use These MasksIf you happen to have Obstructive Sleep Apnea, then more than likely you'll want to use the CPAP machine, since it is great for people who deal with mild Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Most people who use these machines regularly see great improvement and it can be adjusted in such a way to make sure that normal breathing is restored while you are sleeping. However, a person who has severe problems with emphysema should never use a CPAP machine.

Many doctors actually use BIPAP machines for patients who are not totally able to breath on their own. This helps to get more oxygen in their blood. Of course BIPAP machines are also used to treat sleep apnea. This is usually a treatment for those who have more severe apnea problems or for those who have a hard time dealing with the CPAP machines. The machines also help to prevent snoring as well.

The Difference Between the TwoSo, what is the real difference between CPAP ventilation masks and BIPAP ventilation masks? Well, the difference is actually quite simple. The CPAP machines apply continuous pressure to the airways and have only one level of pressure. However, the BIPAP machines have two different pressures. Higher amounts of pressure are applied when the patient is breathing in, while lower pressure is used when they are breathing out. Both machines do well for treating mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea; however, the BIPAP machines are better for severe obstructive sleep apnea and also are effective in treating central sleep apnea as well.

So, as you can see, both types of machines can be extremely useful for treating sleep apnea. Many suffers of sleep apnea actually end up preferring the BIPAP machines, and it is easy to see why. Instead of dealing with that constant pressure that CPAP machines use, the pressure of the BIPAP machines vary, while you are inhaling and exhaling.

Why Does my Toddler Snore? Snoring in Toddlers

It might be typical for little babies to snore because secretions in their throat often clog their tiny, immature air passages causing the vibratory sound. As babies grow older and as their air passages matures and widens, however, this vibratory sound should subside by the sixth month. Snoring in toddlers on the other hand may be normal when your toddler has bouts of colds, flu, or allergy. This is occasional snoring. If the snoring in toddlers becomes more frequent during their sleep, it could be a symptom of sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder caused by enlarged adenoids (the glands in the throat on the roof of the palate) blocking the air passage and affects 500,000 children in the United States annually. This gives difficulty for your toddler in breathing during their sleep at night. Sleep apnea is characterized as a pause in breathing for about 10 seconds during sleep. Some toddlers in this condition tend to awaken several times in the middle of the night. Sleep apnea results in daytime lack of energy in toddlers when they're supposed to be active, crankiness and irritability, and lead to behavior problems.

Long-term effects of inadequate sleep in toddlers are poor memory retention and poor mental health leading to learning problems when they enter pre-school. Experts advice that the period between 3 to 6 years old is the peak when snoring becomes harmful to a child's development. It is also at this stage when treating snoring makes a huge difference in their behavior and learning.

Once you hear snoring in toddlers and suspect that he/she has sleep apnea, a visit to the doctor must be heeded. Doctors would generally evaluate the size of the adenoids and other peculiarities in the throat. An outpatient operation might be required (such as removing the enlarged tonsils) to correct this and lessen the occurrence of snoring in toddlers and sleep apnea.

Home remedy for snoring in toddlers (including sleep apnea) is shifting them to another sleeping position. Studies concluded that snoring toddlers could breathe better when they're made to lie on their side or stomach. Special pillows (available in the market) may also alleviate the condition of snoring in toddlers and sleep apnea.

In general, any child who snores is not getting enough sleep and sleep is essential for optimum physical, mental and emotional growth especially during the development stage. Your primary reaction once you hear snoring in toddlers should be never to neglect it. It could just be mild snoring (which can easily be corrected) or it could already be sleep apnea. So seek medical advice today.
